TAYLORVILLE EMERGENCY

FOOD PANTRY

The Taylorville Ministerial Association sponsors the Taylorville Emergency Food Pantry, which is housed at First Baptist Church.

The Food Pantry is run by volunteers from the churches that are a part of the Ministerial Association.  Don Readhead serves as  director.

The community does an outstanding job of supporting the Food Pantry with not only food donations, but also with cash donations.  Food donations may be dropped off at First Baptist (use Pawnee Street entrance) from 9 to 1, Tuesday through Friday.  Cash donations may be mailed to Taylorville Food Pantry at 303 East Market Street, Taylorville, IL  62568.

Hours for the Food Pantry are Tuesday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.  No exceptions.  People needing food need to have a voucher that can be obtained from most churches and all social service agencies.  People need to live in the Taylorville, Mt. Auburn, and Owaneco area in order to be eligible to receive services.

First Baptist Church will no longer issue vouchers on Food Pantry Day.  On those days, people needing a voucher need to go to one of the other churches, CEFS, or Department of Human Services.  First Baptist will issue food vouchers on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
